【KOBE】Pray for Prosperity in 2021
From Saturday, January 9 to Monday, January 11 (holiday), a festival called Toka Ebisu will be held at the Nishinomiya Shrine in Hyogo to pray for prosperity. Among the many Shinto events, the Kaimon-Shinji Fukuotoko-Erabi, or “Lucky Men race” ritual, (This event is cancelled for 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic) has attracted so much attention that it becomes national news every year with the highlight being when all participants race at once to become the first luckiest person. To avoid crowding this year, dispersed worships have been encouraged with good-luck charms such as bamboo branches, cute Tai fish-shaped slips, and rakes awarded specially until the end of January.
● Admission: Free
